Day 1: Arrival 

 

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport, after completion of customs and immigration formalities you will be met at the airport by LIFETIME AFRICA EXPEDITIONS representative, and introduction to your Safari driver guide. Upon arrival at your hotel, you will be given a detailed briefing on your safari.Check in at your Entebbe Hotel for your overnight.

 

Day 2: Entebbe - Ngamba Islands Chimpanzee Sanctuary

 

Have breakfast at your hotel, Boat ride to Ngamba Islands Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of plants and tree species, wild water and forest bird species, beautiful but unique reptile species such as snakes and lizard varieties plus a beautiful lake scenery all available to make your safari a great memory. You will have a unique opportunity for close viewing of chimpanzees in their natural environment due to the pre-arranged supplementary feeding times (11.00 am & 3.00 pm each day) that bring the chimpanzees to within meters of the raised walkway designed for easy viewing and provide excellent photographic opportunities. You will have a chance to participate in feeding chimpanzees. Have lunch at your lodge. Afternoon spent at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your Ngamba Islands lodge.

 

 

Day 3: Ngamba Islands - Entebbe

 

Have a leisure breakfast at the lodge, thereafter proceed for a boat ride back to Entebbe, upon arrival you will have lunch in Entebbe. After lunch, have a visit the botanical gardens.

Overnight at your Entebbe lodge.

 

Day 4: Entebbe - Lake Mburo National Park for game drive

 

Have breakfast at your lodge, thereafter drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. Lake Mburo National Park which is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million years. It is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi, and reedbuck. Afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

 

Day 5: Second Game Drive – Boat Ride – Night Game Drive if Time Permits      

             

Have breakfast at your lodge, This time you will have a chance to do a second chance for another game drive to capture any animal that you missed on the first game drive.

Have Lunch at your lodge, thereafter proceed with a boat ride on Lake Mburo.

In the evening/night if time permits you will do a game drive.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge

 

 

Day 6: Lake Mburo - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

 

Breakfast at your lodge, thereafter drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Lunch at your lodge in Bwindi. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the smallest National Park in Uganda, it is famous for its mountain gorillas. It has a rich ecosystem, 95 mammal species and 345 bird species have been recorded.

In the afternoon, you will pay a visit to the Batwa cultural community. You will learn more on how they live their daily lives.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

     

                                                    

Early breakfast at your lodge

Early morning transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park registration, where the park staff determines which group of gorillas you will visit the park staff discusses your fitness level and advises you of the trekking times and conditions to the various groups based upon their location in the park the previous evening.

Once the trekkers are put into groups, each group’s Lead Guide briefs the trekkers of the trekking procedures as well as the “do’s and don’ts” while in the presence of gorillas.

After the briefing, trekkers return to their respective vehicles for the drive up the mountain to the starting point.

Trekking can take from two to six or more hours if the gorillas move before the park rangers locate them the next morning. The guides stop frequently to allow trekkers a chance to rest and take photos along the way.

After Lunch, if time permits you will have a visit to the Batwa Community or do a village walk

Dinner and overnight at your Bwindi Lodge

 

Day 8: Second Gorilla trekking

 

Have early breakfast at the Lodge;

Early morning transfer to the Bwindi National Park headquarters for a second gorilla trekking.

Registration at the Park Offices followed by a transfer to your Trail. Then re-enter the forest for the

second gorilla trek visiting a different family from yesterdays. Have Lunch at the lodge.

Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your Bwindi Lodge.

 

Day 9: Bwindi - Entebbe for departure

 

Have a leisure breakfast,

Transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for your Aerolink flight to Entebbe International Airport where you will connect to your departure flight.
